Much of the focus throughout her career has been using yoga and mindfulness techniques to support clients, students, and colleagues.     Maria Sorbara Mora

    Maria Sorbara Mora is a registered dietitian, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner, Phoenix Rising registered yoga teacher, and certified Phoenix Rising group facilitator. She founded Body Connection, LLC, a nutrition and yoga practice in New York City devoted to eating disorder treatment, and The Center For Connection, the only yoga studio in New York City that provides yoga therapy, both individual and group sessions, for those with eating and body image issues. Maria has treated eating disordered individuals for over 10 years and has empowered her patients to heal symptoms through body awareness.

    Neil Pearson is a physical therapist, yoga therapist, and a clinical assistant professor and completed Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy training in 2003. He works exclusively with people who have complex pain problems, seeing them both in one-on-one settings and in therapeutic yoga classes. Neil has developed many resources for people in pain, including a DVD titled Overcome Pain with Gentle Yoga and Overcome Pain yoga retreats. When he is not travelling and teaching health care professionals or in yoga therapy programs, he resides in the interior of British Columbia, Canada.
